Today my partners and I got a lot done. We created a prototype of our music box with cardboard. W did not fit the box to scale, but that is our next step. We began creating the gears on Rhino and we put it in the laser cutter at the end of class. Anna and Nellda were working on the other inside parts with cardboard. Dr.Kolth helped me laser cut the gears but class ended right as we finished. Our next goal is to make another prototype to scale of how large we want the final product to look like. I am excited to make the larger scale modle. Dr.Kloth gave us lots of great advise and help during class.
It is an interesting process to design a mask through Rhino. I wanna try to put some Chinese elements into my mask. But I found out that the figure cannot be cut by the mechine so I changed the details a little bit.
Using borrowed computer number 1 from HMC
My mask is ready, but I did not get a chance to print.
It is fun to use Rhino to draw the draft of a mask. I think it can really help our imagery thinking.
Today I completed my mask and learned more about Rhino like how to measure the distance between two objects.
I finished my mask today (the one on the left). I ended up having to glue the middle together because one of the spots where the circles joined was a little bit too thin.
Our schedule until Demo Day:
Today= Cut Sides
Monday= Glue
Wed= Battery Power and LED lights
Friday= Write simple program for Raspberry Pi
Tuesday= Mount the cell phone holder
Thursday= Presentation and portfolio
Today we cut the rest of our sides, which needed to be 5 Millimeters longer. We also pray painted the casing for the screen. We decdied on leaving the bottom of the box to stay open instead of glueing it so during Demo day we could access the battiers.
