My NUVU Project for Spring of 2017 is called the "Music of Marble". We have been working diligently to create a musical masterpiece. Do you come home sometimes from a stressful day and just can not shake the stress? Our musical contraption may be able to help you. Our machines use the fun scientific aspects of a Rube Goldberg and combine it with music to soothe and entertain people whether they have had a good, bad, or stressful day. Wood tracks support have been created out of thin wood so that we can run paper across and provide a path for the marble. These supports will provide the guidelines that will provide the paper with the incline and turns needed for the marble to complete the track. This path will provide obstacles that when struck will create a noise and in the pattern hit will create a musical rhythm. When started creating our first prototype we used paper and adhered it to the wall using tape and string to create a temporary first track. From there we moved to the idea of having walls that act as supports that we can put our track on instead of attaching our track to a flat surface. During the second prototype, we thought of using the wood track that bends on top of the supports. Our final iteration we moved back to paper but kept the supports. Constructed from Wood, Paper, Lots of glue, and care, is going to be a project that stuns all. In the studio "Musical machines", our project has been shaped into something we never thought we could come through with.
